Our use of a multimodal/
multisensory interface to enhance the communicative, educational, and
pleasurable purposes of this site causes the pages that have more of
those multimedia components to load much
more slowly. It may seem as if your browser has frozen.
While I understand that some overuse of these technical elements did
cause browsers at times to freeze up recently, I
think I have solved that problem. I would appreciate feedback if some
pages are still doing that. You still need patience for pages,
which have audio, video, image, and musical components -- the
first time they are accessed. Yet, one needn't wait for a page to
fully load to begin exploring it. And those who wish to do
no more than view the text and maybe check out the audio and video
players, which all load quickly, should be able to navigate as swiftly
as they wish. If the slow-loading pages somehow interfere with the
ability to do that, when desired, please someone let me know at the
email at the top, so that I can make the adjustments to get it right
for all styles of inquisitive minds. But again if, on the other hand,
the "E Ticket" (see?! Told You I Was EXTREMELY OLD!!!) we
have planned for you is your desire, waiting five or so minutes usually
provides a load of all the components meant for that page; a musical
piece or more than one will usually begin playing at that point,
beginning the experience by building a mood, and then the rest of the
decisions are yours to determine what modes you wish to employ in your

I
read this weekend your “Message from Michael”. I think your
analysis is right on, and it was a relief to read it. I guess one
of the reasons I have been relating so much to Michael, since his
death, is that I am from a family that tries to “dim the light” of
anyone who escapes the status quo, usually by criticism and sarcasm.
Michael was such a shining example of God’s possibility within us.

you for your response, and for sending the link! I wanted to read that
yesterday, but I am having difficulty with your site. The pages freeze up
and shut down my internet connection, so it takes me a long time to
navigate it*. Or I would have read a lot more. I did get to read, however,
another great article that you had that was titled something like, “Are
the normal people the sick ones?” (or vice versa?) In that
article, you also articulated things I have thought for years, but NO ONE
else in my family or friends understand. I look forward to reading
“My Personal Tale” later tonite, and thank you in advance for putting
me on your updates list so I can get part 2 also.
When
I bring up issues such as these, the only response I get are just blank
stares, or someone makes a joke of it. But for me, what you say is
absolute truth.I

that solved, although there will be slow loaders (see

Michael Jackson's beautiful Earth Song -- I'm speechless. This is not
the video that they played on the Grammy's last night. Though that was
great also, this is the most powerful statement yet on the most
important goings-on that this world has ever seen.

It's Good to Be Back
(and, boy! the places we've been!)
Mary
Lynn and I (Mickel and Mary Lynn Adzema are the ones that have been offering
and maintaining this site since its inception in 1997) have changed a bit since
we last were actively engaged on this site.
"Republicans Canned From Top Job....
Adzemas Reborn!"
One way of putting it is that a kind of rebirth
occurred in our lives, not long after Bush-McCain was defeated.
More correctly, it was only after we’d seen Barack Obama officially take over
as President, and we saw the sad, reviled figure of Bush leave Washington, that
we found our lives transforming, in spite of ourselves.
I
personally began writing and couldn’t stop (I’m the Mickel). I mean I had no intention of it. It just seemed
that so
much had been built up over the Bush years; so much wanted to be said
but I had the feeling that no one was listening anymore, and I was
aware that the AMA and HMOs had opted for antidepressants and
psychotherapy was no longer offered anywhere except out-of-pocket.
One-on-one therapy wasn't the only thing to be tossed when the
right-wingers came in, for even our favorite
liberal commentators were no longer invited to speak their minds on
talk shows.
Then the miraculous happened.
I doubt if you’re reading this you weren’t also
incredibly touched by that date: the Inauguration of Barack Obama, the
first Black President of the U.S. But for me, after having watched him,
the way he handled controversy, ethics, attacks, and all the rest, I knew he
was the first President I could actually look up to in my life
since Carter.... Kennedy, too, but I was too young with Kennedy to really understand.
Obama
has all the characteristics that we might expect in a leader if Primal Spirit had chosen him, for he shows a
primal calmness, a spiritual compassion toward his attackers, and yet a primal
“truthiness” to say what needs to be said when nobody else is saying it.
There
couldn’t be a greater change in our country than the difference alone that will
come from the example of Barack Obama, after the horrible things that grew and
were nurtured to power as a result of the example of George W. Bush being castas the dominant world template for eight long
years. But that’s over….
And
everything has changed. It seems that Mary Lynn and I are finding some
truth in our “theme song”:
“In spite of ourselves, we’re gonna end up a sittin’ on a rainbow,
“Against all odds, baby, we’re the big door prize,
“We’re gonna spite our noses right off of our faces,
“Won’t be nothin’ but big ol’ hearts dancin’ in our eyes.”

Here, There, Everywhere...and Every Thing
Would you care for links to new sites -- also by us -- on topics related
to Primal Spirit, with
some
offering products such as hard to get nootropics, anti-aging compounds,
Parkinson's, Alzheimer, and Chronic Fatigue prevention products
that
really work? Check out the outside links for these; that's a menu in
the right column. The sites offering products are not stocked yet (stay tuned),
but they all have some article content. The sites that will have products, at this point,
will be the Natural Self, Primal
Return, and the other Natural Selfsite

Please be aware that we are operating almost a dozen sites and blogs
now, and some are much more developed than others. The ones with the
most content, on this date, are "SillyMickel's Calling the Noble in
Spirit..." (actually on Entertonement, but I have almost 20 new
articles in audio format there - figure 20 hours or so of listening.)
And they're all mp3, so they can be dowloaded to your mobile; by far it
has the most new material, and will continue to. The five blogs have
considerable content, except for the "SillyMickel and the
PlanetMates"
one, which can change at any time, and what is ready and planned will make it
the most exciting and provocative, in my opinion. Primal
Return, Apocalypse
Emergency, Time
Capsule, and Apocalypse Know have substantial content,
and the rest, with an exception or two have at least one new lengthy
article to make it worth your while, if you're interested.
A
Primal Home; A Place Primalers Belong
What I think is potentially the most exciting new development is the creation
of the Primal social networking site. If you're a current or former primaler
and would like to reunite with old friends or make new ones, this is
potentially a lot of fun, as well as very helpful. Only primalers know how our
experiences give us perspectives and ways of being that only other primalers
can really comprehend. Furthermore, if you're still early in the process and
are lacking sufficient support (or even if you're not), you could use this
site to find others who are further along. This newly established site - Primal
Oasis Gathering and Spaces - will be whatever the members make of it. So
let your imagination soar. I have some ideas for events that I might offer
there that would be of an educational nature, but could not be done on this
site. The unique characteristic of this site - and it will be something that
will be strictly upheld, for the benefit of the members - is that only people
who have primaled will be allowed to join.
Now,
I know there may be some controversy over this, but I feel it is essential for
the safety of new primalers. Anyone wanting to join needs to contact me,
Mickel, mickel@primalspirit.com,
for an invite. I've got 39 years experience with primal, as experiencer and
facilitator. I've seen people primal - and by that I mean have "real
feelings" - who have done it through the holotropic breathwork modality.
I was also heavily involved in an organization dedicated to Primal and found
that most did not know the crucial difference between primal and other
therapies - that it is totally a product of the experiencer's inner process,
guided by that person's "Inner Guide," is something that can never
be planned in advance by a therapist or be the experiencer, is always a
surprise, happens when one gives up "trying" to "primal"
and simply opens up to what is happening in the "Now," in ones
body-spirit, not one's defenses or monkey-mind, and is a process that is
impossible, is aborted or killed, as soon as a therapist - or the experiencer
- plans, controls, or directs the process. I need to point this out because
I've seen more fake primalers and fake primal therapists by far than I have
ones who are really "experienced."
So
this will not be a place for primal yellers or primal screamers or those who
have gone through primal rituals, or primal ritual therapy. I am sorry for the
people who have never been exposed to true primal therapy because of so many
therapists claiming they are offering it who have basically figured it out
from Janov's book. It sounds funny, but that is exactly what happened in the
history of the Primal movement, when Janov refused to say anything more about
how primal was done, than what was in his first book, and required people to
come to him and go through the therapy before he would release the keys to the
kingdom. In that, unfortunately, while I understand his reasons, he ended up
creating exactly that which he was trying to prevent. Because without any
clear indications about primal beyond The Primal Scream, then experiencers
were completely without any guidelines for evaluating pseudo-primal
therapists; and even pseudo-primal therapists could convince themselves they
were doing it correctly without anything from primal specifically in print
that would have indicated to them that they weren't getting it.
This
sad part of primal history will be brought out in various ways here on this
site in the near future. I have no intention to tear down anything or anyone,
but I have every intention to get the truth out for those sincere people who
want true primal therapy. And I will be doing everything in my power to see
that people will have options and people will have places to turn. The Primal
Oasis site is the first in that project. Also there is the Wiki site, where we
will be gathering to work on this problem and to come out with something in
writing that might be more helpful, as guidelines, than what Janov did.
The
amount of time that has been wasted by well meaning people engaged in shadow
primal therapy - primal therapy that some person figured out with their head
was "probably" the way it would be done - is a tragic loss. It
breaks my heart to know some of these people and to know they never got the
benefits, and never will, that they would have gotten had that time, and
money, been applied to the real thing. It's sadder still, because I'm sure
many would like to console themselves that even if it wasn't the exact
right thing that it was at least close, or in the right direction. For a long
time I hoped that were true for these people. I will be disclosing how I found
out, without a doubt, that not only is it not close or in the right direction,
it actually is counterproductive in reinforcing the same kind of controlling
behaviors, or planning behaviors, that are the essence of neurosis. True
primal is about "surrendering" to what is, discovering the
unexpected, and has the characteristic that the session is a surprise to both
experiencer and facilitator. So any session that is planned in advance
("My therapist is going to give me a birth primal today" -- is not
primal; but it is common.) is a session where real feelings have no chance to
be felt; there is simply no allowance for them. I will say lots more about
this in the articles that will be published here. I'm simply saying this much
for the sake of the Primal Oasis membership requirements. There may be some
hurt feelings around this membership requirement; all I can say is that I will
do my best to give people options - I don't believe there are any
"bad" people involved here; just unfortunate ones.
"Prozac, no.... Natural Self, si"
Concerning the
products on our product sites, our proudest
discovery is this state-of-the-science line of herbal-amino-natural
compound mixtures that serve -- effectively, we've tried them; nothing else
even compares -- as natural substitutes for the most common prescription drugs
being madly scripted as panaceas by physicians, but having extremely harmful
long-term effects.
Sometimes
you need to fall asleep and can't; sometimes
you need a tranquilizer to make it through your day. You're either
using
one and putting up with the dependency and feeling of unnaturalness,
non-primalness, or you're afraid to get a prescription for fear of
getting
hooked. Well, how about something that works as good, has no side
effects, and
is not addictive, and is comprised of natural compounds that have
been used safely in other cultures for thousands of years?
Or how about an
antidepressant as powerful as Prozac, with no side effects and is completely
natural, and doesn't need to be taken constantly to turn you into
a different personality? How about a substitute for the Ritalin and
Adderal (amphetamine) they are giving children for ADHD, which is just as
effective in stimulating you and allowing you to focus but, again, not
addictive, all natural?
Or a precise
mixture of naturals similar to the ADHD product that you will like better
than a morning cup of coffee, will not make you nervous, will make you
feel like tackling your todo list and making short work of it, and is actually
good for you? Or a substitute for Viagra that's harmless?
Anyway, these are just
some things we've been researching for many decades but only now found
things that were as powerful as these drugs but were safe and had no
after effects or dependency let alone addictive potentials. I know,
we thought it was too good to be true, too. Maybe the Universe,
"God," "Higher Power," is letting us discover them now
because of the unprecedented, never before so dire, just absolutely huge
challenges we are facing now.

With the environment
on the brink, and a real Doomsday for ourselves and all species on this planet
rushing toward us, we're going to need to be authentic, real, primal, and
truthful. We're going to have to adopt primal ways of being, e.g., we're
going to have to learn to be fearless in facing the horribles outside of us and
commit to giving what we authentically can give to the challenge of all
challenges, to save all life on this planet, including our own and that of our
families; just as many of us faced the horribles inside, knowing that if we did
not our lives would end miserably and tragically.
Just as we say Primal
saved our lives, we're going to need our realness, our primal
"truthiness," or, dare I say, our primal refusal to swallow the
palliatives, distractions, trivialities, misinformation, and outright lies put
out by the media bullshit-machines to protect the profits of their corporate
and "filthy rich" owners. We're going to need to follow our Primal
need to know and face the truth, whatever it is, knowing that only lies can
kill you.
Well, when it comes to this kind of truth, lies will guarantee
everyone's demise; our planet will become another Mars. The truth may not stop
that, for it will require more than just you and I or other primal people, but
certainly our primal stance to face truth is what Nature is needing right now.
We are being called out by Gaia, all our fellow planetmates -- the other
non-human beings we share this planet with -- Nature, and the "better
angels" of our being (as Obama so richly expressed it one time) to put our
Primal benefits into action on behalf of something other than ourselves.
You're
still here, huh! Ready for Part 2…the "big reveal" ha, ha. Well hang on
to your pants. As Scout Niblett says in "Nevada": "Let's come back a
little changed." Ok, venture within, but expect to come back a little
changed.
Who's that I hear? Somebody saying "who'd want that!?"
I thought we'd gotten rid of all Republicans in the last description in
Part 1! Well, this one's either, just wandered in, is one of those paid
zombie spies (or thugs) we've been hearing about lately, or is a
glutton for punishment.
Please sir or madam. Reading stuff this self-revelatory could be
shocking to your type. It might even be dangerous; could stress out
your heart to come face-to-face with someone's inner life -- seeing as
how you don't have one; it could be quite alien, probably very scary
(which is probably why you've buried yours). OK, no offense, but
Republicans and all kitty-drowners or butterfly-mashers,
pleaaase….exit, all exits to the right.
OK, now for the rest of us, well if you didn't hear part 1; don't know
how this'll make a lot of sense; but hey, you just might be sensitive
enough to enjoy the emotional roller coaster ride. Still, would be
better to hear part 1 first.
Now, this part. Everyone else, read the title of Part 2: "How to Commit Soul Murder, for Dummies."
There's really no more description needed. You can check out the quotes for any better ideas.
But I will say; this is going to end quite unpredictably for most of
you. I don't think all but the very wise and astute would be able to
envision this ending.
Ok, you've been warned (must have a soul); you've been encouraged: have
soul, then travel; enjoy the emotional roller coaster; and you've been
challenged, can you see the ending coming? At all? That's OK because I
wouldn't have been able to until I'd reached the level of life wisdom
that I acquired at about age 57 -- which is only two years ago. So
don't feel bad about that. But consider then what you may learn in life
about your life experiences and how you may change your views about
them, with greater life experience.
That is the gift I offer you. Its here for all with the courage and the
desire. See you around the soup of consciousness. It's been nice

Personal Tale: Part
1: Fathers, Sons, and
Everyone Inherits a Laundry Room

This
is a very personal tale, raw with unabashed emotion, yet
comfortably humorous, often heart-warming, a story like many
others that you will see yourself in, and yet a story that is
unlike any other and one that many will not believe could
actually have happened in this modern era; or even in this
century. I am laughing as I write this - But it is true. I am
laughing because sometimes I myself cannot believe it, and my
sisters and brothers, who lived much of it with me, share that
feeling at times too.
It is rich in psychological drama of three generations, three
men, and the unconscious, unwanted, but unavoidable inheritances
we receive, father to son or mother to daughter, from one
generation to the next -- the strange mixture of scars, which,
tended to correctly, may show themselves to be blessings. If
you're not getting a clue and getting turned off; you're
probably way over your head already. Go back. Pass Go. Collect
$200 and have fun with it. Bye.
Now for you, yea you. The one being here in all their physical
presence and with all that swirling going around inside. You
know who you are. Here you are, and I know exactly where that
is, ha! Did you think I didn't know you are right smack dab in
exactly the same Universe as me! (I woulda said Mind, but with
all that swirling, I didn't know if you'd freak.) You, the
physical one, with consciousness seeping out and mixing with the
Ocean of Awareness, including my own. Nice to see you again.
Anyway, you're here, bringing your world of contradictory
feelings and confusions and pushes and pulls. I see ya.
Well, now that the "Republicans," for lack of a better
word to explain the ones who actually see a benefit in that their
souls have been stolen, are gone, I can speak more personally, if
you're so inclined.
This story is told by me; and I am a person who has dedicated his
life to self-discovery. I bet you don't know many people who have a
B.A., literally, in "Self-Understanding" from an esteemed
historical university (not some b.s. biblical or internet fantasy
u). This won't be the first time that you'll think I'm kidding and I
won't be. But to continue, I also facilitate deep experiential
therapy, and have almost forty years experience of that kind of
self-exploration. The fact that this audio and writing before you
that I let come through me brightened my horizons even a little more
is an example of how the richer one's self-awareness, the easier it
is to reap even greater rewards of understanding.
To dispel some misnotions: This is not a tale of hate, resentment,
or anger by any means. It was a story like that for many years. But
the surprise is in the true fruits of experience that is honestly
faced and followed to whatever wisdom it leads. And the place it
leads is a gift. To myself. But I believe it is also a gift to the
listener, a surprise one. One that is wrapped like a Christmas gift,
the contents of which you can not even guess, which at the right
time reveals itself to your delight and makes you happy you had to
wait.
It is my story. It was triggered by my contemplation of Michael
Jackson's life and three articles that I wrote about him, two alone,
just since his release from his skin prison to return home to Life
Itself.
Since it is my story, I will tell you only that you will find this
fascinating, a delightful listen, and a heartbreaking, enlightening,
and uplifting tale in the end. Or, especially if you are a
Republican or otherwise not much into self-reflection, personal
growth, or therapeutically inclined, you will hate yourself as well
as me if you continue any further than this, and if you are still
here, I don't know why, because you are probably already feeling
irritated by my style. So go, because it will only get worse for
you.
If you are of the introspective, existential, visionary, and dreamer
camp; you will probably receive a personal gift for staying and
listening; just as I did by "listening in" on Michael
Jackson's life
Another
way of saying this is that a life that is openly and unashamedly
shared, like Michael Jackson's was, is a gift to all that take it in.
My story has that same unashamed quality of saying it exactly as it was
to me, and so honestly that it has never been told this thoroughly and
honestly before, as I never had been inspired to lay this part of it
out this way before. In doing so I feel solid and rich; uncaring of the
myriad feelings -- not all good -- that my authentic, unframed,
"untagged" experiences will bring forth in others. For that which
hasn't already been wrestled and forced beneath some ill-fitting "tag"
is just a Rorschach test for all who view it; and so what you see in me
will likely be far more your own image than mine, just as I saw mine in
Michael's.
But if you do not recognize that, hell, you may see your demon or
angel or just about anything. If you are not very evolved, you may
even blame that on me; again that is what happened to Michael
Jackson for not staying in the jar and being happy just for getting
-- whoop-de-do -- breathing holes!
For in living authentically, as Michael Jackson has demonstrated for
us all one time again, like many authentic people in the past, in
truly being yourself you will be more loved and more hated than if
you take the safe route of hiding.
So listen to this or not; I've already received my blessings and my
gifts out of this experience. They are there for you too, but it is
all in you and up to you to reach for them, or not; and to decide if
now, later, or not in this lifetime. All are correct decisions;
there can be no wrong ones ever (only instructive or learning ones).
Ain't life great! It's been nice swirling around for a spell in the
consciousness soup with you. :-) Later!
